nut milk

I wanna make this one day at my house with all the pecans we have lying around. We should do it for a girls night or something with my new vitamix...

Nut Milk:
I decided to attempt making nut milk the other day at the suggestion of a woman that does all kinds of natural healing. It is easy and tastes SO good. I have never much liked almond milk or soy milk but do use it. I was so happy to discover how amazing fresh nut milk is. It tastes just like the nut its made from, nothing like the boxed stuff. You can use a number of kinds of nuts. I have tried both almond and pecan now. You could also try walnut or Brazil nuts. Maybe cashew- not sure how that would be. Almonds are great for making you more alkaline. Pecans and walnuts are the nuts highest in Omega 3s. If you use almonds they need to be soaked overnight before the milk is made.
1 cup nuts (if almonds soak)
3 cups water
Blend on high speed for about a minute or so until uniform. You can use the milk as is or you can pour it through a wire mesh strainer if you don’t want it so thick. I saved the nut pulp and have been adding a couple teaspoons to my salads- not sure what the health benefits are but I hate to waste things!
